The British School Careers and University Guidance office has an excellent independent university counselling programme that helps students decide the best undergraduate options to suit their individual talents and interests. The provision for Middle Years includes awareness building around skills that link to future careers and mapping these interests through their school journey. Detailed guidance is provided to students and parents of Years 10-13 to enable academic planning and relevant subject choices for IGCSE/IB aligning with undergraduate and career interests.

Our graduates go on to study at top universities worldwide including Ivy League schools in USA, Russell Group Universities in the UK, and leading universities in Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. Most importantly, our students are able to complete a journey that culminates in finding their right-fit universities across a diverse range of interests such as law, engineering, finance, creative arts and medicine.

Admission Process In The British School

Our Admissions team will help you with a smooth entry, all the way from registration until your child joins the school through our 4-step admission process.

Step 1 : Registration

Registration is possible online only.

To complete the registration process the following must be uploaded:

  • Photocopy of the child's passport and visa (latter where applicable)
  • Photocopy of the parents' passports, if diplomats
  • Coloured passport sized photograph of the child

Applicants must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs 20,000 for the registration to be completed. he payment can only be made online.

Your application will be put on the waiting list and will be valid for a duration of 1 academic year from the date of registration unless already processed by the Admissions team.

Step 2 : Submission of documents

Once a place becomes available, you will be asked to submit the following documents:

  • Health form
  • A copy of the school reports of the last 2-3 years (in English)
  • A confidential recommendation form filled in by a previous teacher, sent directly to the Admissions team
Step 3 : One-on-one interaction

After the above has been received, eligible applicants will be invited for an interaction to help us learn about their capabilities and identify any special needs.

Applicants for Years 1-12 undergo an age appropriate assessment/ interaction which includes some English, Maths and non-verbal skills. These interactions do not require any prior content based preparation.

Choice of subjects for the IB Diploma programme is determined by the above-mentioned process. In case of higher-level subjects, the applicant will be expected to have attained minimum grades.

Assessments and interactions take place at The British School when onsite or online depending on your location.

Step 4 : Offer of admission

An offer of admission is made once the above criteria and assessment have been successfully cleared.

Do remember:

    • Parents must accept the terms and conditions of admission.
    • An offer of admission must be accepted or rejected within five working days.
    • Upon acceptance of the place, students residing in India must pay the fee within 3 working days of the receipt of the invoice. Fee for students residing overseas is to be paid in ten working days of the receipt of the invoice.
    • The school reserves the right to offer the place to the next available candidate, if:

a. the place is not accepted within five working days from the date of offer, or

b. payment is not made within the specified period of time.
