About DBS (PG) College Dehradun

Welcome to DBS (PG) College Dehradun. Inspired by the ideals of the great social reformer of the nineteenth century, Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the college was established in July 1961 in Dehradun by Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan, Kanpur then named D.A.V College Trust and Management Society. The College memorizes an eminent educationist, a legal luminary, a philanthropist, and a legendary of Arya Samaj Late( Dr) Brijendra Swarup, after whom the college was named Dayanand Brijendra Swarup (Post-Graduate) College, Dehradun abbreviated and popularly known as D.B.S. (P.G.) College, Dehradun. It witnessed the leaderships of visionaries like the Late (Dr) Virendra Swarup,the Late (Shri)Jagendra Swarup, the Late (Dr) M B Srivastava, and many intellectual faculty members who have always contributed to the development of the college. Presently, Shri Manvendra Swarup, Advocate is serving as the Secretary,the Board of Management.
The College is UttarakhandState Government Aided Post Graduate College with Doctoral and Post Doctoral Studies facilities.It is a brand name in higher education in the region and is situated in the heart of the city.One can seethe towering Mussoorie Hills of the north and a relatively dwarf hill of Shiwaliks in the south from the campus of the college.
