B.S. Negi Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan was established on 27th june 1987 by Mrs. Shobhana Wahi wife of Honorable col. S.P.Wahi ex chairman ONGC, for which land and buildings were provided by ONGC in their premises. Subsequently one more building and workshop were built for accommodating more courses in the polytechnic for women.
On 5th February 1990, ONGC Mahila samiti Polytechnic for women was registerd under society registration act 1860.
In 1992 the name of ONGC Mahila Samiti polytechnic for women was changed to ONGC Mahila Pravidhik Prashikshan Sansthan and subsequently renamed as B.S. Negi MPPS on 20th December 2003 on the name of first chairman of ONGC.
